I am infatuated with the power of the human form and endeavor to portray the complexities that lie within each of us. My own energy is expended in my figurative pieces through visible brushstrokes and textures. I work in oil paints exploring how varied textured surfaces and the movement between two and three dimensional space react with my subjects as well as the application of the paint.
My artistic process bears a close connection to my subject matter. I am fascinated by the process of layering brushstrokes to build an image and an identity. Through fragmented images, warping in and out of their two-dimensionality, I now begin to deconstruct my process divulging the parts that make my subjects whole.
